[Producer information]

Tiago finally achieved his childhood dream and became independent. From an early age, Tiago watched his grandfather work in the fields.
From that time on, I had a strong desire to grow grapes and make wine.
While attending a regular high school, he also attended an agricultural vocational school.
At university, he studied cultivation, brewing, and agricultural engineering.
After that, he gained 5 years of cultivation and brewing experience in Oregon and earned a Ph.D.
Finally, in 2007, he returned to Douro, Portugal, and revived the farm that his grandparents had cherished as his own farm!
Folias de Baco means ``The Joyful Feast of Bacchus.''

Modern brewing techniques are used, and human intervention is kept to a minimum while still maintaining tradition. It is often brewed in grapples, lightly treaded in lagares (traditional Douro vats), and with little crushing.
He values tradition while judiciously using knowledge of modern brewing techniques.

Only wild yeast is used, and the red is a traditional Douro blend.
More than 25 varieties are planted in a single field!

His field is at the highest point (550m to 700m) in Sima Corgo, a sub-zone of the Douro, and is a cool place.
It is at the highest altitude and is so cool that even though it is in the Douro, Porto construction is not recognized.
The soil is the poorest in the Douro, with some fields having shallow cystic topsoil and lots of stones, and some granitic soils.

By using cultivation methods that respect nature, he believes that in this environment, where the locals thought it would be impossible to produce high-quality wine, he could produce the wine he wanted to produce, fresh and with a taste of the minerals of the land. conviction.
I am moving forward on the path I believe in!
