BATATE MARCHE ROSSO 2019

Region: Marche, Italy

Grape : Syrah

Category:Red

The syrah that my father Raffa planted,
A miraculous encounter with fields and yeast!

Fields with high altitude and high clay content are
Perfect conditions to produce concentrated Syrah.
Fresh and pleasant acidity of black cherry and cassis,
A thick fruit flavor that fills your mouth.
Spice of black pepper.
Firm but mature tannins.
The Syrah they make is the height of sophistication.

[Producer information]
The Marche region, blessed with the blessings of the sea and mountains, is Italy's number one in organic farming and cultivation of local grapes. The splendor of the Marche region's nature and climate can be seen in the fact that natural wine producers are emerging one after another.
The fields of Clara Marcelli are located in the southernmost part of the Marche region, in the village of Castrano in the Ascoli Piceno department.
A very beautiful small artistic town with medieval architecture and remnants of the times.
Their vineyard is located 14 km from the sea, 15 km from the Apennines, and at an altitude of 250 to 280 meters, with long sunshine hours and a large temperature difference during the day, making it the perfect conditions for grapes.

The farm, which has continued for generations, is now taken over by the genius brothers Emanuele and Daniele.
Apart from their work on the farm, the two work as architects to promote rural living, protect the environment, and revitalize the region.
He has converted an old farmhouse in the Marche region into an agriturismo and is designing the interiors of stores and restaurants.

They are pursuing "real wine and deliciousness" that will not change over time.
"Have  own style and create something of value"
This is something that architects and winemakers have in common, and is the dream of these genius brothers.

A photo taken when my husband and I visited the winery in 2018.
