①Marcel Richaud/Terre d'Aigle 2022
Origin: France, Rhone Grape varieties: Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre, Carignan, Counoise

In the early 1990s, Richaud had already established a reputation as one of the best winemakers in the Southern Rhone. I have drunk many of Richaud's wines over the years, and there is a taste that only he can produce.
The craftsmanship is faithful to nature, yet the drink is satisfyingly drinkable and has plenty of presence.

②Maria Bortolotti/Anatura Amanascondersi 2018
Origin: Emilia-Romagna, Italy Variety: Barbera

This producer is popular for its orange wines, but their reds are also excellent.
This cuvée, made using only the finest grapes, is exceptionally concentrated and full-bodied.
Although the tannins are soft, the 16% alcohol content delivers a rich finish that lives up to expectations, making this an addictive Barbera.

③Larco/ Valpolicella Ripasso Classico Superiore 2020
Origin: Veneto, Italy Grape variety: Corvina 55%, Rondinella 35%, Molinara 5%, Croatina 5%

They are a maker with a solid foundation that respects tradition, and are well known and highly regarded.
Made using the "ripasso" method, which involves adding Amarone pomace and re-fermenting the wine, the rich aroma is enchanting, reminiscent of dried raisins.
It's getting harder to get hold of every year, so if you haven't tried it yet, I highly recommend it.

④Clara Marcelli / Rosso Piceno Superiore 2017
Origin: Italy, Marche Grape variety: Sangiovese, Montepulciano

Of all the wineries I have visited, this producer is my favorite because of his hard work, honesty, and warm personality.
Sangiovese, Italy's signature grape variety, and Montepulciano, a local grape variety from Marche, are a perfect match - there's no way no one wouldn't like them!

⑤Clos massot/ Perle Epepin 2010
Origin: Roussillon, France Grape varieties: Grenache, Syrah, Carignan

This special wine was released from the cellar after 14 years of aging. The producer is passionate about both his personality and his wines, and has many enthusiastic fans.
This is a work of art that expresses the rich flavor and depth of Grenache grapes that are over 120 years old.

I had the same vintage about five years ago, and even then it had an indescribable, seductive and alluring finish.
The further aged taste is simply mind-blowing...a perfect bottle to treat yourself to at the end of the year.
