CIDRE BRUT

Region: Normandy, France

Grape: Apple

Category: White foam

We don't usually drink sweet wine, but the exquisite subtle sweetness of this cider is the best!

Using more than 60 types of hand-picked apples, this product has a warm taste that gives you a hint of the countryside, with a complex taste that includes the natural flavor of ripe apples and a slight bitterness.
Alcohol content is approximately 5%.
The perfect apéro, even for those who don't like alcohol.

[Producer information]
A third generation apple and pear producer in the village of Saint desir, located about 3 kilometers west of Lisieux in the southern Normandy region.
It was started in 1919 by the grandfather of the previous owner, Mr. Leon Defriesch, and now Mr. Leon's four sons are responsible for building it.

They own a 38ha apple orchard and a 5ha pear orchard around their warehouse. In addition to cider, they also make poiret (sparkling pear wine), Calvados, and Pommeau de Normandie.

About apples and fields <br data-mce-fragment="1">There are as many as 60 varieties of apples.
Each type has a variety of characteristics, ranging from sweet to bitter to sour.
By using a variety of apples, you can obtain juice with a well-balanced flavor.

The soil is Argyro Silex, and no herbicides are used.
Instead, the cows are raised to eat the grass that grows, and their droppings are used as fertilizer for the fields, creating a very natural circular system.
Normally, the cows eat grass or hay from the fields, but from winter to spring they are fed cider and poiret pomace. They seem to love this.
The field has been practicing biodynamics for a long time, and its naturalness is certified.

Because it coexists with nature, there may be years when production is low, or it may be cloudy or unstable, but the power of the real fruit is a drink that has a deep, nutritious taste that makes people happy.
