QUEUE DE COMETE 2021

Region: France Languedoc

Grape: Mourvèdre, Cinsault

Category:Red

A wine that has become so delicious over time, truly amazing.

I was surprised to find it several levels more delicious than when I drank it a few years ago.

Its aroma evokes cassis, plums, and blueberries.
Despite being packed full of fruit, its texture is amazingly light.
Yet you are intoxicated by the surging umami and the long-lasting finish.

‘Qu de Comet’ = ‘Tail of a Comet.’
Named to mean a wine like a comet that sparkles brilliantly and disappears (when you drink it) in an instant.
Grown in clay-limestone soil with vines 35 years old,
it has a wonderful balance of lively fruit and minerals.

[Producer information]

Julie Brosselin is a young female producer who is building a new era in the village of Montpeil, Languedoc. Speaking of the village of Montpeyre, it is the great village that produced the Laigueliere that made the Languedoc region known to the world! Independent since 2015. Wine made in tandem with Ivo of Lescarpoletto, a partner both in public and private life.

All cuvées are of course SO2-free, non-collage, and non-filtered.
Each cuvée has its own characteristics, and in addition to different varieties, we take special care such as performing pigeage twice with the feet for the higher-end cuvées.
The unique label was designed by Julie's sister.

Julie and Ivo own a field of about 5 hectares together.
The fields and plots are not divided between the two of them, but they are separated after the harvest.
The tank is different. Their plans for the future are progressing smoothly.
We acquired a terraced vineyard where we will plant Muscat and Italian varieties.

It is no exaggeration to say that the next generation of Laigueliere is in her league, and we must keep an eye on Julie as she continues to evolve.

A photo taken when I came to Japan with my partner Ivo in 2019. Julie is a truly lovely person both inside and out. .
