Podlauje region, northeastern Slovenia,
The Šman family, located in the Srednje Slovenske Gorice region, has been a grape farmer for generations. Wine making started in the 17th century.

During World War II, the land was confiscated by the Communist Party and the area has now been reduced to 5.5 hectares.
The current style of wine was adopted in 2000, and since 2010 it has been completely free of SO2 additives.

The head of the family, Radovan, has always loved nature and animals and went to university to study veterinary medicine and agriculture, but he began to have doubts about farming methods that routinely use pesticides and the teachings that coexistence with animals is impossible.

What I was taught at school was not absolute, so I always searched for other answers and did research.
I thought that all the answers might lie in nature, so I started researching plants.

"Ecosystem balance" in biodynamics, which we came up with as an answer, although we may not be able to find it even if it takes a lifetime.

The 5.55 ha field has 15 year old Pinot Noir, Yellow Muscatel,
Over 80 different varieties are planted around the area.
