la Montagne 2021

Region: France Rhone

Grape: Grenache, Cinsault

Category:Red

A cuvée made by the two sons of Langlore, a pioneer of natural Tavel!

A new wine made from grapes from the Tavel plot, managed by Eric's sons Thibault and Joris!
Etiquette was designed by Tavel artists Folco and Pierre Caillor. (Folco also works with Domaine.)
2021 was a year with spring frost damage and slow grape ripening, resulting in a very delicate wine with a low alcohol content, which is unusual for this region.

[Producer information]

“Creating natural wine is like sailing on a sailing ship at sea; nature is stronger than humans.”

There are various hardships that come with natural cultivation and brewing. However, like a sailing ship navigating the ocean, Eric says it is important to surrender to the wind and embrace nature as we head toward our destination.
Grapes can only be harvested once a year, and of course wine can only be made once a year.
If human ego and preconceptions come into play, good wine cannot be made.
On the contrary, you have to free yourself from the belief that you have to make good wine, accept the grapes of the year from nothing, and put your best effort into it. Also, in order to utilize natural yeast, SO2 is of course not used at all during the harvesting and brewing stages.
All wine liquid movement is done by gravity, never using a pump. It can be said that winemaking takes full advantage of the potential of the grapes.

The two sons, eldest son Thibault and second son Joris, began working in earnest in the fields and storehouses.
Thibault, the eldest son, started helping his father Eric in 2010 while studying philosophy (ranked 26th in the world!) at the Sorbonne University in Paris. After graduating from university, he finally started working at the brewery in earnest in 2018 in order to take over the family business.

From the era of two Eric and Marie, to the era of a family of four, we can't take our eyes off the Langlore family, which continues to evolve without stopping.
